Market Structure indicator on a NinjaTrader 8 chart showing Internal and Swing BOS and CHoCH labels
What it detects

Internal structure

Every swing high and low as price forms them — HH, LH, HL, LL — updated candle by candle, no repainting.

Swing structure

Internal structure filters automatically into higher-level swing structure, so you see both the noise and the signal on the same chart.

BOS — Break of Structure

Confirms trend continuation the moment a candle closes beyond the prior swing level.

CHoCH — Change of Character

Confirms a trend reversal the moment a candle closes beyond the opposing swing level.

Weak Swings

Unconfirmed swing points shown as a dotted line until a 3-bar pullback locks them in — so you're not anchoring on a swing the market hasn't committed to.

Independent alerts per tier

Separate sound alerts for Internal structure change and Swing structure change, plus fully configurable fonts, colors and line styles per tier.

Why price-action-only structure

Most market structure indicators lean on ATR multipliers or fixed lookback windows to decide what counts as a swing — which means the same chart can show a different structure depending on a setting, and everything repaints as that setting gets tuned.

Market Structure works the other way: a swing high or low is only ever confirmed when a candle closes beyond it. Nothing is inferred from volatility, nothing is assumed from a fixed number of bars. What you see on a closed bar does not change on a later bar — and Weak Swings keep unconfirmed points visually distinct until they actually earn confirmation.

Typical uses: reading trend direction objectively without discretionary swing-drawing, spotting CHoCH reversals early, and using Internal structure as a faster-reacting layer underneath Swing-level context.

FAQ

Does this use ATR or a lookback period?

No. Swing points and BOS/CHoCH are confirmed purely by candle close — no ATR multiplier, no fixed lookback, no fractals to configure.

What's the difference between Internal and Swing structure?

Internal is every swing as it forms, updated candle by candle. Swing filters that down to higher-level structure. Both run independently and can be toggled and styled separately.

What are Weak Swings?

A Weak Swing is a candidate high or low that hasn't been confirmed yet — shown as a dotted line. It locks in once price pulls back against it for 3 bars.

Does it repaint?

No. A swing or a BOS/CHoCH only confirms once a candle closes beyond the relevant level — it does not move or disappear on later bars.

Is the trial limited?

The trial is the full version, limited to 1 day. No signup, no email required.
